A recent staircase refinish for a Toronto client — tired hardwood transformed into a rich, modern dark stain that anchors the whole entryway. Drag the slider to compare.

Oak treads stained dark, spindles sprayed black, and a handrail brought back by hand. Stair work in older Toronto homes means stripping decades of layered finish before anything new goes on — and masking well enough that the floor underneath comes out clean.

Century semis and detached homes across Roncesvalles, Riverdale and Cabbagetown are lath-and-plaster with decades of layered trim paint; downtown adds condo and loft work with its own access rules.
Every corner of Toronto is covered, and most of what borders it — call 289-988-1318 if your street is not named above.
Toronto is not one painting market, it is a dozen. A Victorian semi in Roncesvalles, an Edwardian detached in the Annex, a worker's cottage in Leslieville, a century home in Riverdale or Cabbagetown, a post-war bungalow in Etobicoke or North York, a glass-tower condo downtown, a converted loft in the Distillery — each one has a different substrate, a different access problem, and a different definition of a good finish. We work across all of them.
The century homes are where experience shows. Original lath-and-plaster walls do not behave like drywall: they move, they crack along the lath lines, and a skim coat over a live crack will simply crack again if the plaster underneath is not keyed back first. Trim in these houses is often layered with decades of paint, and homes built before 1960 may carry lead in the older coats — which changes how the surface must be prepared, not whether it can be painted. Narrow semis with shared walls and no driveway also mean staging, ladders and material handling have to be planned rather than assumed.
Condos are the opposite problem: the painting is straightforward and the building is not. Elevator bookings, certificates of insurance for the property manager, restricted working hours, and protecting common corridors are what actually determine whether a condo repaint runs smoothly. We are fully insured and WSIB-registered and produce that paperwork as a matter of course — see property management painting if you manage a building rather than a single unit.
Our work in the city is documented rather than described. The full interior repaint at 38 St Clarens Avenue in Roncesvalles — a renovated semi, professionally photographed after completion — is in our gallery, along with photographs from projects across the GTA. For what a Toronto repaint actually costs, the instant quote calculator gives a 2026 range in about a minute, and interior painting sets out what a full repaint includes. Century semis and detached homes across Roncesvalles, Riverdale and Cabbagetown are lath-and-plaster with decades of layered trim paint; downtown adds condo and loft work with its own access rules. It matters because preparation decides how long a finish lasts, and what a Toronto house needs depends entirely on which of those it is. We quote from what we see on your Toronto walls, not from a price list.
Typically 1–3 weeks from quote acceptance, depending on the season. Downtown and condo work needs elevator and loading-dock booking, so give us a little more notice for anything above the ground floor. Call 289-988-1318 for current availability in Toronto.
Yes. We come out to the property, measure the actual scope, talk through finishes and email a written quote — usually within 1 business day. No charge, and no pressure to book afterwards.
Benjamin Moore (Aura, Regal Select, Advance), Sherwin-Williams (Emerald, Duration), PPG, and Farrow & Ball on luxury projects. Century homes through Riverdale and Cabbagetown carry decades of layered trim paint, and Benjamin Moore Advance over a bonding primer is what holds up on them. We never use builder-grade or economy paint.
Yes — general liability insurance and WSIB coverage. Proof of insurance is available on request, and we re-confirm both for every commercial or condo board project.
Lath-and-plaster walls in the older Toronto semis move and crack, so preparation means proper filling and reinforcement rather than a skim and a hopeful topcoat. Preparation is around 60% of a quality paint job and we never skip it — filling, sanding, priming and masking all happen before any colour goes on, and we clean up daily.
